The ENERGY STAR Mortgage Program accelerates home energy efficiency, enabling homeowners to cut back on energy use, save on heating and electricity bills, make home investments more secure and affordable, and lower carbon emissions.

An ENERGY STAR mortgage offers homeowners and home purchasers competitively priced, affordable financing for home improvements that will cut their energy use by at least 20 percent, and achieve dramatic savings in some cases up to $1,000 per year, every year.

Lenders who provide ENERGY STAR mortgages can use the most powerful green brand in the nation recognized by 70 percent of all Americans -- and lead the growing market for green financing.

ENERGY STAR mortgages help states achieve carbon reduction goals and stabilize homeownership.

The ENERGY STAR Mortgage Program is a public-private partnership directed by the Energy Programs Consortium, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, state energy and housing agencies, with support from the Ford Foundation and Surdna Foundation.
